My first trip was the "grand tour" including Venice, Tuscany/Florence, Pisa, Deruta, Rome, and one or two others I may be forgetting! Brutal, but gives you an idea what you want to do next. My second trip was primarily Tuscany, with one quick foray up to Bologna, Modena, and Parma. Robert and I got married southe of Capri/Sorrento/Amalfi and of course that is beautiful - we ourselves are trying to decide whether, during our 5th anniversary trip this year, to return to the scene of the crime, or go to one of the other parts on our list? One other place not yet mentioned but on our wish list is Cinqua Terra, which is good for outdoor lovers such as yourself, as well as couples because there's a romantic cliff upon which to hang a lock-and-key to commemorate your love. My personal vote for our 2011 is the middle of the country, FOOD region of Emilia-Romagna, spending more time in those 3 towns that got short shrift on my 2nd trip - the food is amazing, as are the museums. My goal in life is to spend one month living in Bologna, studying the language and cooking! (PS this new handle is what I'm thinking of calling my own upcoming blog...not decided yet, but this is how your blog seems to know me today.)TogetherGirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03999147359634676210noreply@blogger.com
